A New Version of Shift coming your way soon!

Received an email about a new version of Shift and still have questions? Wondering what the deal is with migration? We've got answers!
 

Migration: Coming your way soon

The new version of Shift will be available to existing Shift users over the next couple of months. We’ll migrate your current setup, including Spaces (Workspaces), apps, and bookmarks. If you can’t wait to get started and don’t mind leaving your current setup behind, you can head to shift.com to download the new version of Shift and start building from scratch.
 
If you want to try out Shift Browser, you can run both v9 and the new version simultaneously. 
 

Why can't I see my Advanced Features? 

The new version of Shift will not register that you are an Advanced user until you sign in to Shift Browser with your current Shift login (Primary email login). If you are blocked by a paywall at any point in your use of Shift Browser, follow these steps to login and link your current account to the new version of Shift: 

  1. In the new version of Shift, click on the settings icon Settings icon.png to open the Quick Settings drawer.
  2. Click the "Advanced Settings" button at the bottom for more settings options.
  3. Click the “Accounts and Services” option on the left-hand sidebar.
  4. Beside the “Sync Shift”, click on the “Turn on Sync” button.
  5. You will be prompted to log in - Log in using your current Shift v9 Primary account login. 

You should now be able to use all of your Advanced features in the new version of Shift! Just keep in mind that none of your previous v9 setup will be migrated over to Shift Browser yet. 

If you have many Workspaces and many Apps per Workspace, we recommend waiting to download Shift Browser when prompted to migrate. We'll communicate once migration is ready!

  • Start building from a template. Choose from 6 unique browser layouts. Pick which fits your flow, then drag and drop to tailor Shift to you!
  • The world's first carbon-neutral browser! Shift measures and offsets the digital carbon footprint produced by the apps, websites, or extensions you use within its browser. Carbon-neutral browsing isn't just another feature. It’s part of our promise to reimagine what browsers can do—not only for users, but for the planet.
