Extensions: Using LastPass in Shift

Do you use LastPass and want to add it to Shift? Here’s how you can do it!

LastPass is a password management tool that saves and auto-fills all your login credentials. Using the extension helps you quickly log in to all your accounts, without without typing your passwords.

Extensions are available to Advanced Shift users. For more information on upgrading, head here.

How to add LastPass to Shift

  1. Open Shift
  2.  Click on the extension icon at the top right corner
  3. Click on "Add Extensions"
  4. Search for "LastPass" in the search bar 
  5. Click on LastPass and then click "Add to Shift"

How to set your preferences if you keep getting logged out

 You may notice that LastPass keeps logging you out in Shift. Here's how to prevent that:

  1. Click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon in the extensions bar
  2. Select "Account Options" or  your username at the bottom of the menu
  3. Go to Extension Preferences and then General
  4. Under Security, you can choose:
    • Log out when all browsers are closed – Check this box if you want LastPass to log out when you close your browser. If you want to stay logged in, leave it unchecked. This setting is disabled by default.
    • Log out after this many minutes of inactivity – Check this box if you want LastPass to log out after a certain time when you are not using your computer. If you want to stay logged in, leave it unchecked. This setting is disabled by default
  5. Click Save when finished.
  6. Restart Shift to make the changes work
