You can import your bookmarks and browser settings from a supported browser anytime in Shift! Supported browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi. If you're using a different browser, importing browser bookmarks and settings is not possible at this time. If you're looking for instructions on how to import your bookmarks, this article is for you!

Note: You can only import or use 5000 or fewer bookmarks in Shift

How to import bookmarks from a supported browser

1. Fully close down the default browser that you want to import from (i.e. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, or Vivaldi)
2. Go to Quick Settings (top-right corner) scroll down to Advanced Settings  You and Shift
3. Next to "Import bookmarks and settings", click "Import"

How to import bookmarks from a file

You can also import bookmarks directly from an HTML file. Here's how:

1. Type chrome://bookmarks in the top search bar in Shift
2. Click the 3 vertical dots on the right-hand side of the page
3. Click Import Bookmarks from the drop-down menu
4. Select your HTML file

How to rearrange imported bookmarks

After importing bookmarks in Shift, you can rearrange those directly from the bookmark bar as well as from the bookmark manager page (chrome://bookmarks). 

How to re-arrange your bookmarks directly from the bookmark bar:

1. Go to the bookmark bar on Shift
2. Click-hold on the bookmarks/folders you want to manage and move them according to your preferences

1. Right-click on the bookmark bar and select "Bookmark Manager" to open
2. Click-hold on the bookmarks/folders you want to manage and move them according to your preferences

How to re-arrange your bookmark bars from the bookmark manager:

1. Right-click on the bookmark bar and select "Bookmark Manager" to open
2. Click-hold on the bookmarks/folders you want to manage and move across bookmarks bars according to your preferences. You can also move bookmarks among different bars by dragging them to your preferred bar

How to export Bookmarks

How to export your Bookmarks: 

1. Head to chrome://bookmarks
2. Click the 3 dots in the top right corner 
3. Select "Export Bookmarks"
