Do you use Zoom and want to use it in Shift? Here is a simple guide to help you add Zoom to your Shift setup!!

Zoom lets you have video and audio calls, live chats, breakout rooms, screen sharing, and more. Since we are all using more virtual tools, Zoom is now a big part of our work and home life. We want you to stay connected with your team, family, and friends. That’s why we have the Zoom app and extension in Shift.

How to use the Zoom app

You can add the Zoom app to Shift so it shows in your sidebar. Here's how:

  1. Click the "+" in the lower-left corner
  2. Select "Add Application"
  3. Type "Zoom" in the search bar
  4. Select "Zoom," then add your preferred account name and colour
  5. Click "Save" and find Zoom in the Shift sidebar
  6. Log in to your Zoom account and start hosting meetings

You can add multiple Zoom apps for different accounts. Make sure to give Zoom access to your microphone and camera when asked.

You can add the Zoom Chrome extension to schedule meetings from Google Calendar. Here's how:

  1. Click the Extensions icon in the top right
  2. Click "Add Extension"
  3. Search for the Zoom Chrome Extension
  4. Click "Add to Shift"

Pro Tip: Zoom Chrome extension is only for scheduling future Zoom meetings from within Google Calendar

Known issues with Zoom within Shift

  • The Zoom Chrome extension does not work with the Outlook/Office365 Calendar
  • The Zoom app in Shift does not support features like screen-sharing because it is the web version of Zoom

Want to use your Zoom app in another workspace? You can create shortcuts to access your apps in any workspace you choose. Check out this helpful resource on how to do that here: All about App Shortcuts.
