Shift can automatically detect if a clicked link is related to an app you have added to Shift and open it in that app instead of a web tab. This feature is called "Smart Link Handling" and is available in Shift Ultra (v9). Keep reading to learn more about Smart Link Handling.
What is Smart Link Handling?
Smart Link Handling lets Shift detect if a clicked link is related to an app you’ve added to Shift. It opens the link in that app instead of a separate web tab.
How to use Smart Link Handling
- When you click a link related to an app in Shift, a message will appear on the right side of your screen
- The message will ask where you want the link to open
- Choose where you’d like the link to open
- To make this choice the default for that app, check the "Don't show this again for this app" box. You won’t be asked again unless you delete and reinstall the app
*image shows the right-hand slider where you can choose to open the link in the App or in a new tab.
