Attachment download error

Issue Summary ðŸ“„

Users are running into an error when trying to download an attachment in Shift.

Status: Fix available ✅

The following troubleshooting steps will fix the issue:

  1. Open the Registry Editor:
    • Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type regedit and press Enter.

  2. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments
  3. Once you’ve located the Attachments folder:
    • Click on it to display its contents on the right-hand pane. It should look something like this:
    • Find the entry named ScanWithAntivirus.
    • Right-click on ScanWithAntivirus and select Modify.
    • Change the value to 0 (which disables the scan) and click OK.
