Facebook is a social media platform that lets you connect with family and friends. You can use Facebook in Shift. Click for more information about Facebook features.

How to Add Facebook to Shift

  1. Click the "+" in the lower-left corner
  2. Select "Add Application"
  3. Type "Facebook" in the search bar
  4. Select "Facebook," then add your preferred account name and colour
  5. Click "Save" to add Facebook in the Shift sidebar
  6. Log in to your Facebook account

You can add multiple Facebook accounts to Shift. Just follow the same steps to log into your other accounts. Click for more information on managing multiple Facebook accounts.

How to manage notifications and badges for Facebook in Shift

To allow notifications:

  1. While in Facebook, click the lock icon next to the search bar at the top
  2. Click on "Site Settings"
  3. Toggle your notifications on or off

To manage badges

  1. Right-click on the Facebook app
  2. Make sure the "Show App Unread Badge" option is checked
  3. If you don't want notifications to count in the badge for the entire Workspace, turn off "Include in Workspace Unread Count"

Even after turning off desktop notifications, you might still hear sounds from the Facebook app. Click to learn more about how to choose what notifications you get.

Using multiple instances of the Facebook app in Shift

Facebook limits how many instances of the app you can be logged into at once. This is a security measure by Facebook and not controlled by Shift.

Accessing the Facebook app in other Workspaces

You can create shortcuts to access Facebook in any workspace in Shift. To learn how to do this, check out this resource: All About App Shortcuts.
