How to delete your Shift account and data

Looking to delete your Shift Account Data? You’re in the right place! We'll walk you through the steps to request a data deletion through our Support Request Form and via Email. 

If you're looking to delete your Shift account due to a technical issue, please contact our Support team first. We’d love the opportunity to troubleshoot any problems and assist with your request.

 

What's the difference between Regular and Full data deletion?

  • Regular Data Deletion:
    • Some personal data and data used in third-party tools (e.g., Facebook, Google, Mixpanel) may not be deleted
    • Remaining data is mostly anonymized and cannot personally identify you
    • You may still see Shift ads through third-party services like Facebook and Google
    • You will be unsubscribed from all mailing lists

  • Full Data Deletion:
    • All personal and anonymous data, including data used by third-party tools, will be completely deleted
    • All data will be removed from Shift’s servers
    • You will be unsubscribed from all mailing lists

Who is eligible for Full data deletion

If you are a resident in one of the following regions, you can request a full deletion under applicable data laws:

How to request data deletion using the Support Request Form

  1. Make sure you’ve cancelled your Paid subscription *if you have one. Learn how to cancel your subscription here.
  2. Uninstall Shift
  3. Access the Support Request Form here
  4. Request Deletion
    • In the first dropdown field, select "Accounts, Payments, and Pricing"
    • In the second dropdown field, titled Account, Payments, and Pricing options, select the option to “Delete my account” 
    • Another dropdown will appear for the Account Deletion Type, select the data deletion type that you qualify for based on your location
    • The next dropdown will prompt you to provide feedback on the reason for your account deletion, select an option
    • Complete the remaining required fields: Operating System, Type of Account, a Subject line for your ticket, and a brief Description of your request
    • Don’t forget to click SUBMIT at the bottom!

How to request data deletion using Email

  1. Make sure you’ve cancelled your Paid subscription *if you have one. Learn how to cancel your subscription here.
  2. Uninstall Shift
  3. Email Support
    • Send an email to support@shift.com requesting a data deletion.
    • Please include your Shift Primary Email, so we can correctly identify your account, and also specify which type of deletion you qualify for: 
      • Regular Data Deletion (default) 
      • LGPD (Brazil)
      • CCPA (California, USA)
      • CPA (Colorado, USA)
      • CTDPA (Connecticut, USA)
      • GDPR (European Union)
      • Chapter 603A (Nevada, USA)
      • FADP (Switzerland)
      • UK GDPR (United Kingdom)
      • UCPA (Utah, USA)
      • VCDPA (Virginia, USA)
