Are you being asked to upgrade Shift even though you've already paid for a subscription or are part of a team? Here are some quick tips to help you regain access to your paid features! 🚀

When you might be prompted to upgrade

You might see an upgrade prompt in these situations:

  1. You didn't hard refresh Shift after starting a trial, purchasing, or joining a team.
  2. You signed into Shift using the wrong email.
  3. Your Primary Shift Account recently had domain or other changes.
  4. There have been changes to your network, proxy, or firewall.

If any of these apply to you, follow the steps below for each scenario!

Scenario 1: Hard refresh after Trial, Purchase, or Joining a Team

After you activate a free trial, purchase a Shift subscription, or join a team, you must hard refresh Shift for the upgrade to take effect.

  • Press Cmd + Shift + R (Mac)
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows)

If that doesn't work, you might need to reset app data. Follow the links below for step-by-step instructions depending on your operating system:

Scenario 2: Signed in using the wrong email

If you signed in with a different email than the one tied to your paid subscription, you'll see an upgrade prompt. Sign out of Shift and sign back in using the correct email. Follow these step-by-step instructions to sign out of Shift.

Scenario 3: Changes to your Primary Shift Account

If your email domain or hosting changed (e.g., from Google to Microsoft), or your administrator made security changes, you might see an upgrade prompt. Click to find solutions in this article.

Scenario 4: Changes to your Network, Proxy, or Rirewall

Changes to your network settings can affect your access to Shift. If Shift is unresponsive or not working, check the changes you can make in this article.
